zero screen concept
Another TV voice agent project I worked on at Samsung was Zero Screen. The current voice agent direction Samsung was using for TV was really a repackaging of what was on mobile. We wanted to create a concept that was made for TV and really utilized the size of the screen. Initially we worked with W12, an agency in London, on the overall presentation and personality of the agent. After my team and I worked flushing out the agent even further and designing how results would be displayed.
Before we started working with W12 I out together a deck that defined high level principles we wanted to drive the direction. They included Minimal, Elegant, Natural, Simple, Subtle, Adaptive and Flexible. Below is the principle for Adaptive.
Below is the final artifacts delivered by W12.
After our relationship with W12 had concluded my team started flushing out details. There was some difficulty getting the overall motion and personality correct. The motion work lacked the defined principles and didn’t embody the DNA from W12’s work. I ran a workshop focusing on loosening up designers and have some fun exploring how to illustrate emotion with simple objects. Below are a couple of examples.
Below in the final concept for Zero Screen. This agent was later used in another project called Portland.
